Dear Holy Cross family,
In the weeks leading up to Holy Week, we offered our parish a number of opportunities to share your thoughts and experiences of our Church. We have gathered together your responses and sent them to the Diocese of Monterey: along with responses from all of our parishes, these will be submitted to the Vatican and become part of the ongoing Synod.
In these conversations, we asked two questions:
1. In recent years, what is an experience that you had had when you felt like the Church was “journeying together” with you and/or its people?
2. How is the Holy Spirit Calling the Church to better “journey together” with you and/or its people?
We received responses from over 220 members of our parish. Below you will see a summary of these responses. The number next to each statement represents how many times this particular statement or sentiment was mentioned. To save space, we are only publishing those responses that were shared by multiple people.
Father Martin and I thank all of our lay leaders who planned and hosted the majority of these conversations. Your effort was a good and holy effort.
On a personal level, let me say that these responses have been very eye-opening: thank you to everyone who took the time to share your experiences with us.
Yours in Christ the Servant,
